These poems were written by my father. I never knew he wrote, I always knew how much he loved and he always expressed how he felt. You never had to wonder how my Dad felt about you or anything for that matter. When he passed away, we found these poems with others he did not write in a photo album made especially for my Mom, as a way for her to remember his love for her. He was an amazing man and always will be in my heart and soul.

A Truly Incredible Woman
My life started over the first day I saw her.
I was intrigued by her beauty, especially her fantastic legs.
I knew then, that I needed to meet this girl as I watched her cross the street.
As luck would have it, I got to meet her a short time later
and my life has never been the same.
After the first date I could think of nothing else
but to be with her the rest of my life.
I realized what 'real love' felt like.
She brought passion to me I had never known before.
We have been together for more then thirty years now.
My wonderful wife has given me two wonderful children,
many very special times and she has given to me, herself
and she keeps giving each and every day we live.
This woman has helped me when I was down,
and has given me support when I needed it.
She has also put me in my place when I needed it.
She always believed together we could accomplish anything we tried,
Guess what?
This lady was right.
Now that I can no longer work and need help,
this sweet girl has stepped up to keep us going.
People talk about riches and valuables
of prestige and recognition,
all the things that money brings to us,
I think of what I have in the love of a good woman.
I am proud to be this woman's partner and thank God everyday
that he sent her to me on that bright summer day more then
thirty years ago.

My Family
God sent us a gift in his special way
Our first little girl was born today.
I was hoping for a boy right from the start.
But her love reached out and stole my heart.
As I looked at my wife so pretty, so sweet
I knew that our family was not quite complete.
When our second little girl came on that special day.
I realized it was suppose to be this way.
As we know now, she was not a boy,
but our little Valentine has brought us such joy.
My life has been full of love you see,
for the three wonderful gifts, God has given to me.
Donna, My Love, for all these years,
we've shared the laughter
we've shared the tears.
Through good times and bad you have always been there,
to comfort and love me, and show me you care.
You've given me strength when I needed it most.
The love and joy I've enjoyed all this time,
gives me assurance you will always be mine.
Our girls now have grown and moved away,
although we see them most everyday.
Our love will grow as the years go by,
and as I share these thoughts with you,
I remember when I said 'I do'
It truly had to be the happiest day of my life,
because that day you became my wife.
