Petr Sykora scored in triple OT to give the Penguins a 4-3 win over the Wings and force a Game 6 in the finals. No matter how this series ends, we'll remember Monday's game for years to come.

Okay, so last night (June 2, 08) was game 5 of Red Wings/ Penguins series for the Cup. My Mom watches almost all the hockey games. She became a Red Wings Fan awhile ago, hmm, I don't remember how, have to find out. Anyways, since I have been with Duane who follows hockey but can't watch the whole game without flippin the channel, I have not watched as many hockey games. I try to watch the play offs esp at the end. I know, not a true Red Wing fan, but I didn't want Mom to watch the whole hockey game alone if they had the chance to win. I wanted to be able to share that with her and her with me.

So I went to Moms last night, had dinner and a wonderful night. Watched a great hockey game. Just about 40 seconds before the celebration should start, the cup be given out, etc. Penguin's score and tie up the game. Oh, my heart sank. I was so dissappointed. I just wanted to cry. I could only imagine how the fans who actually paid for a ticket and were there live and to have the glimpse of seeing and being at a celebration is huge. My heart went out to all of them.

So okay, reality was faced, we were going into over time. I like overtime hockey LOL  It's intense, on  the edge of your seat kind of hockey. Live or Die Moments. Times you forget to breathe cuz your so focused and deep catch your breathe moments, when a whistle blows. So I was sure we were still going to pull it out. We were still playing very good hockey, just needed that chance. Well after another period, still nothing.

2nd OT, c'mon boys!! Get this game over! Ummmm, no! Still no score. OMG I am starting to panic, Mom couldn't hang, she had to go to bed and so I went home. I get home, takes me 2 minutes, I live very close LOL I get jammies on just in time to sit down to watch 3rd OT. I was ready to celebrate, I really thought this had to be the period we are going to finish this off.

3rd OT... Play was intense, my heart beating a million miles a minute, axiously awaiting the goal. Whistle blows, we have a stop in play......WHAT??? We have a penatly, against detroit for high sticking!!! WTF!!!!! C'mon what the hell are you guys doing?? 4 minute penalty.. 4 frickin minutes. Game over!!! I couldn't believe what happened, how could you take a penalty like that, wtf was your stick doing up there, the puck and ice is way below that, omg!!!

Power play started and what felt like seconds...SCORE!!!! Game over Red Wings, celebration still yet to come, or maybe not!

I never blame one person, if we would of had an extra goal awhile ago, this wouldn't of been an issue. Foolish play, but good call. He deserved 4 minutes, we would of expected it if skates were on different feet for that very same call. Just sucks to be a Red Wing fan at that moment. Poor fans who sat there hoping to be a part of a lifelong memory, gone at the cost of 4 minute penalty.

Now, that does not mean, had the penalty not happened we would of won the game. BUT the loss wouldn't of looked so bad. Just goes to show you LMAO Payback's a bitch LOL I did put a smile on my face for the Penguin who called his shot, took it and won the game!! WTG! Penguin's fans are happy. Now, on to game 6!! GO WINGS!!
