A Day at the "Big House"
U of M Football Stadium
September 1, 2007
Let me give you a little bit of history. When I met Duane he was already a huge U of M football fan. His entire family including his Gram and Grampa, big influences of his life were MSU Spartan fans. Since as far back as he could remember, he was never a Spartan fan, there was something about U of M that he enjoyed. His Grandparents never influenced him to change that, they let him like who he wanted to. I never watched football so I could of cared less who was who. The first time I met Duane and before we met, I knew his love for the "Wolverines" I respected it and hoped he could teach me football LOL Anyways, we met up and his birthday was the following week, so I wanted to get him something for his birthday. What else but something Michigan. So that's what I got him. He loved it and the smile on his face that day was priceless. After getting to know him more, I realized his love for this team was like no other. I asked him one day, if I could make any dream come true for you, what would it be. He said "I wanna go to the Big House" I tried for along time to get my hands on tickets, just was impossible. I wanted to be the one to take him, to see the smile on his face and the excitement making one of his dreams come true. I didn't get that chance, but he did get to go to his first game on Sept 1, 2007. On friday at work, I received a phone call from him. "Guess where I am going" I could hear the smile on his face and the excitement in his voice. Oh I wanted to see that so badly. I listened to him tell me Maria got tickets and him and Tommy were going. I was sad for a moment, because I wasn't going to be able to share that with him, but if anyone had to take my place, I was so happy it was Tommy. Duane rattled on and on, barely able to breathe, he was so excited. I enjoyed that so much but I was at work and not able to talk long but he sounded like a little boy getting his very first bicycle or something. One of the reason's I love him so much. So one stipulation before he goes. Woman always have at least one don't they? *ha ha* You have to take the camera, you have to take pictures of YOU, not just the football team and the hot chic walking around LOL I want to see that smile, I want to see you at that stadium happy as you can be. I want pic's dammit man and no sunglasses, I want to be able to see your eyes. Okay he said, I can do that. So here are some of the pics that he took. He had a blast and will forever remember that day! TY Maria and Tommy for making his dream come true. He did come home with a horrible headache from being in the sun all day, but if you ask him, he would live through that all over again to be able to go again. I am so happy he finally was able to go to the Big House!
